Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360)
While more and more games are being released for the Xbox 360 there are several very good games for it that you should not forgoten.
Microsoft sent us a sample of their Project Gotham Racing 3 for us to test out. This new racing game offers features such as: buying cars, earning points to improve your car, and you can even play it online vs others on the Microsoft Live network.

These first shots are taken from the intro where you have cool music running in the background while they present the cars and tracks in the game.
At a first glance this racing game looks to be a very good contender vs the Need for speed games. The intro really gives you a feeling that you want to try this game out so thus far the game is doing its job, which is to tempt me to start playing.

One of the tracks you will be able to drive on is in New York and the tight streets there.
You can choose different views of the car and even though it does not look excatly like the right picture when driving it does show a bit how good the graphics are in this game. These shots are still from the into movie.

The game is all about ranking, the better rank you have the better cards and gear you will have. We got a couple of shots of the menu system which is very easy to understand and you can play around with them for awhile just to end up with a few better settings and then starting the gaming.
You can choose to play differnt type of careers and build up your ranking in the game or on the net.
I went for the solo career to try the game out first and see how it feels.

You start the game by choosing car and the color and parking it in your garage. There are several cars to choose from and as you play and complete some tracks you will unlock some more. I w ant a car with good acceleration therefore I choose the Noble M400. The picture shows the cars different powers with lighting up some bars depending on how good it is on the specific thing. I have used a Hauppauge MCE150 tv card to capture these shots. The graphics in the start is very nice and you ca see some of the crown and the cars engines roaring before the actual start. The first feeling I got was that I am missing a steering wheel, well I guess I have to get one later.

Within the game you can choose to either drive the card while watching from behind the steering wheel or from the front of the car.
I personally like to see the whole car in action and it gives me a better view of the track that way also, you choose view with just a few button clicks. You got a rear mirror in the car so you can see when a car is behind you and you also see when its time to switch gear and how fast you actually are going.

The right picture shows some cool small tricks you can do with the car, like wheeling and making some smoke come out of the tires.
Feeling and Sound:
I like the game, but I do like Need for Speed better, this game misses a bit of feeling. Maybe you can arvchieve it by buying a steering wheel for it but it just did not feel real to me with a gamepad. I can waste a few hours with this game but then again im not a person that love car games.
The sound effects and sound in general is very nice and you have a clear sound and cool sound effects when something happens.
Conclusion:
As said before I did not get the feeling I get in for example Need for Speed. It just doesn´t give it to me. Its a nice game though with some nice features and if you love car games maybe you should give this a shot but I know for sure there are better games out on the market right now.
Pros:
+ Nice tricks you can make
+ Can choose cars and colors
+ Good graphics and sound
Cons:
- Lacking feeling
- Need a steering wheel to get the feeling
