Xbox 360 Faceplate Sun

Our first review on Rbconsoles will be an Xbox 360 faceplate named Sun that Microsoft provided us with. With faceplates you can make your console more personal and special. There are now several companies that make these flaceplates and you can even have one made with your own personal logo on it. We will look at the quality and how easy it is to install one of these faceplates so stay tuned and read the rest of the review.

You don't get to much with this, you get the faceplate in a plastic cover. You can take a look at it in the store as it's just a plastic cover which is very nice so you can see how it really looks like. On the back you have some informatio and you get a small manual that describes how you are supposed to change the faceplate.

There are several different faceplates on the market both from Microsoft and some smaller companies. I will try to review a faceplate that you can make custom and print your own logo on in the near future. The cheapest way would probably be to take the original faceplate and spray it the way you want it to but to get a nice finish you need a bit skill, so this is a perfect solution for people like me.

It's time to remove the old faceplate and get this new one in place. As we can see the standard one is white if you have not bought a special edition which usually has a different faceplate on it. You remove this by pulling on the bottom of the faceplate if the consoles stands up like this one. After that you get the result of the right picture, you will see what actually is hiding behind the faceplate.

All you have to do to mount it is to push it into place and the clips will lock it onto the console. We can see that even the power button shines up nice with the new faceplate also. The only flaw with this is that the cdrom is still white, I wish they would have supplied a new front to the cdrom also that matches the rest of the front.



Conclusion:

A faceplate that make the Xbox more personal and get a more unique look for the user. There are several ones on the market and these from Microsoft cost about 30$USD which is a bit high as far as I think for a small faceplate. If they would also include a cdrom cover to match the faceplate then the price would be acceptable in my eyes. I like the quality on this though and I beleive you will buy crappy ones and also higher quality ones in your journey to find a perfect one.
